*American Crafts Goodness*

hey there! happy Tuesday!

stopping by today to share some American Crafts layouts for October with you:

first up we have my precious son who I miss so much!
(he's coming home for Thanksgiving break. I haven't seen him since
we moved him to Texas State College in August)

these are his SR. photo's that the fabulous photographer & sweet friend
Andie Smith (who's about to have a little boy of her own! Any day now!)
"Reach For The Stars"
would you believe every bit of this layout was made using scraps?
No really! Well, besides the letters, stickers and buttons of course.
I used up some of my very first Amy Tangerine release by AC  along with
some of my very favorite release - Chap. (::ahem AC - how about Chap 2?::)

The yellow paper already  had 3 punched stars. I decided to back it with black cardstock.
I must have used a strip of it  on another project (I can't even remember!) because it was
shorter than normal. I placed it on some AC yellow cardstock , added a strip
of the black chalkboard design paper, then that yellow sheet.

Once that was done, I put Shaypher's photo's on a piece of Amy Tangerine's sheets
from a daybook that I tore out. The round strip & the orange strip you see are also
from her daybook. I tore a few apart & had fun with the inserts. Sorry Amy!
The stars were acutally stars I used my Big Shot to cut stars out on. I decided to
trim around the stars, back a couple & plant them on my layout.

the strips are just strips I had cut at one time & kept them.
Which is weird, I hardly keep
scraps THAT small.
I left the border strip on the yellow paper (btw - ALWAYS check
your AC paper. They always ALWAYS have the cutest border strips!
Fun to use, that'sfor sure!) the blue arrow strip is also a border.

After adding a few buttons & letters - I called this one finished!
Next up we have my precious, gorgeous, fabulous, amazing, lovely, adorable
great niece, Presley. I love my Pres-Pres. She calls me "La-La" and has to either
Facetime or call me every day. What's funny is she's so CLEAR. 21 months old & sounds
like a kindergarten girl already. Whoa, slow down Presley!
her favorite thing to call & say the minute I answer is:
"HI La-La! Hi Lilly! Hi guys!" love her. man. She can say Leslie, "La-La" just stuck.
I'll take it. ::sigh:: ♥♥♥
Anyway - check her out:
 "Hello Almost 2"

Just look at that face! How could you say no? Seriously!
I took these cute pics of her as we were heading out to the
pumpkin patch in Grapevine, Tx. We just left Chili's.
She was so proud of her little drink & boy did she look so GROWN
for like about 5 minutes!
Every bit of it. I added some Studio Calico
Mister Huey's in a few places.
I also added some of the new Heidi Swapp Color Shine in gold.
Super easy & super fun to create.
Last but certainly not least is my world.
A peek into my everyday:
"Welcome To My World":
this one was FUN to make!
I'm so into gray right now. I want it everywhere. I love creating with it.
Adding bright colors to it to make it pop - that's my FAVORITE!
I also used Dear Lizzy's 5th & Frolic here too.
I cut several of the polaroid's from a sheet of paper & added
little 2" prints I ordered from Postal Pix (taken with my iPhone.)
I love my life...♥
See ya'll tomorrow with some more AC - Happy Halloween!

*Oh HEY, Fall!! - Noel Mignon Style*

Happy Monday, friends!

how was your weekend? getting all your halloween costumes prepared?
got your house all decorated? ready for fall? yeah....not so much here at my house.

BUT I did my first fall layout using the pics I took of my sweet niece, Presley,
in the Pumpkin Patch we went to in Grapevine:
You can see my layout and the closer shots up on the Noel Mignon blog today!
I hope you enjoy this quick post - I'm off to finish some more fun creating!
have a great day!
one more thing before I go...
alan and I are slowly redoing our house & I first showed you our kitchen redo -
now we're on to the front bathroom
(it's a Jack & Jill bathroom that connects Savannah's room to the hallway right
in front of Shaypher's room. We're carrying the "french/country" theme throughout...
stopping in Savannah's room)
(**will post those when we tackle it and are finished)

Here's one wall of the bathroom. It's the main bathroom guests use
(and the kids - when they're here)

I put my Silhouette Cameo to good use!
I used the french version of "bathroom" for each
frame & made a  french like design for one of the frames.
I put them on kraft cardstock and Alan placed them on the wall.
I added that little fleur de lyse that I had in our family
bookcase. perfect touch I say!
My next project is my MOST favorite.

While out antiquing one day - Alan and I found these GREAT windows that
people have made into signs for rooms.
They said things like "Guest Bathroom", "Guest Bedroom", "Potty Place" - really?! LOL...
( I found one with a great saying I'm going to incorporate in a later project
for my bedroom! But back to the topic...)
those were priced anywhere from $75 - $200!
Mainly because they were vintage windows - but partly because, wow, the details!
hard work (just ask Alan after he put these letters up for me, LOL!)
So, on one of our last visits at a fabulous antique store near my house -
I scored not one, but 2 old vintage windows for $20!

I cut the words for "ladies & gentlemen bathroom" in french of course.
Alan placed them so carefully for me (while I was working on another project)
I have to say I'm in LOVE:
another shot of "salle de bain" (the bathroom)

this used to be the UGLIEST picture ever. I don't even know what made me buy it
a while back, ha! Well it's been covered - I'm sparing you the ugly!
We took leftover toille fabric from our kitchen cabinets  & framed it. I love it!!

looking in the bathroom - love my house!
(that tub area is going to be changed into a stand alone shower later on....)
have a great day!
oh and thank you for your sweet words on my new "venture".
I am quite excited!

*Prima Cards*

hi friends!!

just dropping by with a quick Happy Friday post!

I have a couple of cards up today on the Prima blog  & thought I'd share:

there's more fun cards up on the blog today, you should check them out!
Also, everything I used is up there with a few more up close shots.

I've been so busy this week with editing all the gorgeous shots I got of my friends
sweet family!
I made a little iPhone template to share a few of my shots...

if you look really close - you'll catch a glimpse of something I'm up to.
it's a dream come true that's actually COMING true....
(more on that coming soon! like realllllllllllly soon!)
all I have to say is all the hard work I've been putting into something is surely paying off.
I have to give all my glory to the Lord above. It's all for Him.
Thanks to my mama for all she's shown me growing up....♥
more soon friends!

WAIT! Before I go! I almost forgot...
Today, up on the Scrapbook Update blog - the layout I made
"happiness is... in a jeep!" is highlighted! Talk about making my day!

*Happiness Is....*

in a jeep?
heck yes it is!
well to me anyway.
Seriously...ever since Alan got our jeep, all i want to do is be in it!
it's fun to drive, fun to ride in, just fun fun fun.
I especially feel like the queen when other "jeepers" wave at us! So cute.
That antsy anticipation when another jeep is close by, rolling up on us...yeah,
I'm goofy like that. I love that feeling!

Anyway, up on the Noel Mignon blog today I have a post about our
happiness, in our jeep:

it's just a fun eclectic, shabby, messy with clean touches layout.
with a destination at the end. Antiques. That's us! We love to go explore and find
new and fun places to look at antiques. We can so get lost for HOURS.
There's so many around us, it's unreal. I had no idea!
Until we got in our jeep & went exploring.

I think my parents instilled the love of going and looking at antiques
in me when I was a young girl. I loved it! I still love it...
on the blog post, I talk about the apps I used to create this grid photo
as well as the 2" photo's at the top! Go check it out...
Thanks so much for checking my blog today!
I can't believe a week slipped by me & made me so busy I couldn't get back here
this past week!
I've been sharpening my photo skills & taking LOTS of pics lately.
In fact...
yesterday afternoon I took some family shots for a friend of mine at a park nearby...
just look at this princess E:
can't wait to share more later!
look for more of princess E's pics & some I took of Alan (author pics) and
more from our Oklahoma trip!
Have a great day, y'all...

*That was EASY!*

Monday, Monday, MONDAY....
how I know today is Monday:

1)  didn't want to get up at ALL today after getting home from a
fabulously, wonderfully, fun filled, action packed weekend in Oklahoma

2)  I made coffee and forgot I made it - finally drank my first cup at 10:45 am.
3)  I got up, got dressed but couldn't think what I was forgetting. My makeup.
It was my makeup. I'm SO glad I didn't have anywhere to go today. ha!

4) something I thought I made and posted - wasn't posted. Because I just plum
forgot before we left for our fabulously, wonderfully, fun filled, action packed weekend
in Oklahoma....ha!!

needless to say..Monday is definitely here. But almost gone, yay!

Want to see what I made??

It's this:
"That Was Easy"
and this:
"You Make Me Happy"
which both happen to be up on the Noel Mignon Blog today!
I used the October Student Council kit
(which is definitely sold out - BUT  you can get the Student Council Limited kit right here!)

Let me tell you where we went this past weekend!
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma! Well more than just OKC - but mainly there.
It was such a FUN FUN weekend! I'll post more about it later!

My husband Alan is a cyclist. He's big on races, rides, etc...
(and he's GOOD at them!)

He competed in the Senior Games - for Cycling.
He brought home not just ONE gold medal..but TWO!!!
  • One for the 20 k race (overall:  his age bracket & the entire race)
  • One for the 40K race (his age bracket & tied for 1st which gave him 2nd the entire race!)
I am so proud I can't SEE straight. We had ALOT of fun. I'll share all the pics
later as I'm still editing them - but here's a few shots taken from my iPhone while there:

(pretty sure I said something kinda funny here - I do that to him. A LOT. )
winning his first race....gooo Alan!
he'd just left for race #2 when I took this shot of him and his first medal
just finished...
wow, what a GREAT weekend!
more soon...

*Me, Lily Bee & my Antique Addiction*

hello everyone!

it's Tuesday. Not only is it Tuesday but it's a special Tuesday.
Today my first Lily Bee Design Team project is UP on the Lily Bee Design blog!

I don't know why, but my nerves are set in. I'm excited as all get out to share:
Today (Tuesday) 's post is a designer's challenge post by Patricia.
You have to go check her GORGEOUS project out on the Lily Bee Blog today!
The challenge:
Scrap about yourself featuring a mix of all the new collections by Lily Bee Design
(Autumn Harvest, Christmas Cheer & Persnickity)
here's some closer shots of my project:

I absolutely LOVE to go antiquing.
We go every chance we get. Not always getting anything,
but just looking & enjoying the day out.
I decided to do a layout about my hobby. I used the 3 lines
to make hearts raining down, to mimic my love of antiquing.
I'm absolutely IN LOVE with all of these Lily Bee lines & had so much fun
putting this layout together.

Right now we're in the middle of our kitchen redo
& I have been eyeing and buying
vintage plates for our bulkhead above our cabinets.
We were going to take all that out
but decided, no...we like our cabinets & we don't want shelves up there we did this.
it's the look I was going for.
I'll share a pic - it's an iPhone panoramic photo & the cabinets
aren't finished...but it's ok, I'll share.
We're going to paint the cabinets antique white with distressed/exposed/worn edges.

We got a few more plates today -  in fact my handsome husband is in there now
putting them up. I'll share more later!

I hope you've enjoyed the post today!
Thanks for letting me share with you!

*Projects galore....*

hi! happy Monday!

Didn't the weekend just ZOOM by? wow, Monday got here FAST!

I've got a quick but project filled post today.
I'll follow up with an update on my sisterand her successful surgery.

Starting off is my post up on the Noel Mignon blog today:
(check out the blog post for up close shots)
I'm always flabbergasted when I think that ::whoa, hold please:: my kids are truly
college kids. In fact...they're close to being DONE with college. WHAT!
Can I truly be THAT old? haha!
Well yes...I guess I can.
Funny thing - I look at this picture of my Savannah & think, her age I was getting married!
Then bam..a year later there she was! Oh and just another year after that..hello Shaypher.
This has been one amazing ride with my family.

anways - I used the October Student Council kit for this project.
It IS sold out, so sorry!!! BUT Noel put together a limited Student Council kit
in case you missed out on this one.  It's right here;  Student Council Limited

My last projects to share today are some Prima projects...

This first one is Prima's PPP for October. I mixed LOTS of fun Prima products
together. TO see the complete list, go check out the post on the Prima Blog

then I made this tag for Prima's Tag & Cards post
it was so much fun to make! I got kinda dirty & grungy - but that's the FUN part of creating.

Next up is a couple of older layouts I can't remember if I shared or not:

(photography by: Andie Smith)
This layout was created for CHA Summer 2012 - using the GORGEOUS
Welcome To Paris line.

(photography by:  Andie Smith)
this one was created for CHA Summer 2012 as well using Tea Thyme
that's it for projects today.
Tomorrow I'll share my first Lily Bee project. I'm kinda nervous - but can't wait to share!
Update on my sister:
first up, I want to thank ALL of you for praying for her!
I updated my Facebook Status with the following, right after her surgery:
She's out of surgery & everything went excellent!! High cell count donor
(a young donor to whom we are forever grateful!)
and now it's just up to Melinda's body to accept the donor cornea. She's in recovery. Our family thanks all of you for your prayers and thoughts! We love you!
She's continuing to recover daily. It's a LONG process.
My oldest sister and I took her to her follow up doctor's appointment on Friday
& he explained alot to us and to her.
Plus he said something that I will always take to heart and cherish!
He told Melinda (my sister who had the cornea transplant) that her eye is doing fabulous!
No sign of rejection & he doesn't see it happening. The donor cornea count is very high
(due to a young donor) and that helps so much. She's had 3 previous rejections so we hope
this one is the charm!

He also explained that her sight will get worse for a couple of weeks while the cornea
comes "to life" again. Then in a month it will be better, but by 3 months it should be perfect.
Thursday she was seeing 20/30 which is a miracle, she was hardly seeing ANYTHING at all
before her surgery.
The final thing that he said that touched me like no tomorrow. It's because I'm a firm believer
in the power of our Lord and Savior...
Melinda said it's so sad that someone had to die in order to give her this cornea.

Doc replied:  "the way I see it with transplants is the only place you can get a cornea is from God"
so to all of you who sign donor cards & to all of you who have donated and have had love ones
donate any and all organs
(which we've been on that end too. My sister in law
passed away and saved lives)
thank you. We love you. We want you to know that you've given a beautiful gift.
We are forever grateful.
I signed my donor card.
thank you for letting me share with you today.
make it a fabulous day.
go hug your loved ones.
tell someone thank you today.

*American Crafts Projects*

hi friends! how in the world is it already WEDNESDAY?
happy hump day!

today I'm stopping by to share some American Crafts projects with you.

Up first is a project that was on the AC Blog yesterday - it's a tutorial!

Here's what I made:

(to see everything I used & how I did it, plus step by step photos, simply click on the above link!)
I have it hanging in my scrap studio. It looks perfect there!
Here's a pic:
I played with the new panoramic cam on my iphone - whoa, that's the coolest thing!
That's what this pic is - a panoramic view of one of my studio walls. You can see my "dream"
on the far left.
here's a closer shot:
(both iPhone quick shots so I could show you, lol)

It's just the right touch. I'm glad I put it there.

Now how about a couple more projects?
These are for the AC DT gallery -

Cutest Invite EVER!
there's our cute baby again! Little Presley Blake who is now 20 months old.
This  was her 1st birthday invite this past January.
I took that photo of her. Her mom-mom and dad-dad loved it so much
they made it her birthday invitation.
I was honored! Isn't she the most beautiful little girl!
I had to scrap the invite...
anyway, that's all Amy Tangerine's new On The Go line all on there. YUM.
I did add some different thickers - but everything else is Amy T. I love her stuff. ::sigh::
there's my precious kiddo's! ::sigh:: (done alot of sighing today, huh!)
(On Amy Tangerine's On The Go line again - that's one of my FAVORITES!)
I love love LOVE those kids. So proud of them.
I can't even believe I have a 20.5 year old  and a 21.5 year old!
Wasn't I just 21? why yes - the day I got married, LOL!
22 when I had my first baby, 23 my 2nd baby...
and here I am today. O.L.D.
but happy! Blessed. so VERY blessed.
I was HONORED to see that Two Peas In A Bucket  highlighted that layout this past Friday!

that's all I have to share today -
but before I go. I wanted to ask a simple something.

if you are a praying person - could you PLEASE lift my sister Melinda up in your prayers?

Tomorrow she's having her 4th cornea transplant.
She's been through HECK the past 10 years battling a disease called keratoconus.
not in just one eye - but both!
I simply pray that the doctors have steady hands,
that the transplant takes & that she recovers FAST!
Hopefully this will be her last transplant.

I just want to also thank all the donors out there that have given to the receivers like my sister.
I'm so sad they had to pass away - but am forever grateful and will consider them my heroes
for saving people, like my sister.
she's my best friend!

Thank you in advance for saying prayers and thinking positive thoughts.
Our family appreciates you like no tomorrow!
This is my sister Melinda with our gorgeous great niece Presley:
Thank you everyone!
I'll be back soon - I'll fill you in on her surgery.
